One way that I've found to put a little extra money in my pocket each month is by taking short surveys online. Now, this method hasn't made me an overnight rags-to-riches success story, but it has helped me put a few extra dollars in my bank account each month. And let's face it... With the economy doing whatever the heck it's been doing since the second term of Baby Bush's debacle presidency, a little boost to the finances can be just what many of us need.

There are many ways an average person like myself could get started taking surveys online. I think I received an email one day that was probably a little 'spammy' in nature, but also a bit intriguing at the same time. I did a little research, joined a few survey panels to begin with, tested the waters, and by trial and error was able to weed out the losers and cultivate some winners

There are many different ways you can benefit from taking surveys; Not all of them pay participants in cash. Some are incentive based; others reward panel members by entering them in weekly, monthly or annual drawings each time they complete a survey. Some survey panels actually incorporate a healthy mix of incentives. Some give you points that you can cash in on merchandise, and some actually pay cash, and a decent amount of it.

Taking online surveys

Taking online surveys are great for work at home moms (WAHM) who are looking for a little extra income and a fun way to pass some time.

I've been taking online surveys now for the better part of 4 years, so I've come to understand what it takes to make a little extra 'scratch' with this method. Online surveys will NOT make you rich, so if that's your angle move on to the next get-rich-quick avenue. But if you're serious about supplementing an existing income, then this may be something you'd be interested in pursuing.

You definitely need to research a bit before you start taking surveys, because there are some programs out there that will charge you to become a panel member. All the best online surveys are free, because there is a legitimate need for consumers to answer questions and test products for companies that are developing stuff they want to sell to the general public.

Once you've joined a couple survey panels, you'll start to receive email notifications letting you know what surveys are available and what incentives are involved. Pay close attention to how often a panel sends you email notifications, because if you don't like emails, then some of the companies will drive you crazy. I can think of at least two panels that emailed me daily with several offers. I liked the opportunities, so it wasn't a problem, but I could see where others may not have shared my enthusiasm.

Taking these online surveys right from home, or anywhere for that matter, is so easy, there really is no downside to at least giving it a try. If you become hooked, then you will have found an exciting, interesting and easy way to make a little extra $$$ from your computer, and if you don't like taking surveys? Then you stop taking them and move on to your next fulfilling project. There truly is no downside to the process.
